Our Summer Potluck Social
/Maria Bunnewith welcomed about two dozen of her fellow timebank members and their guests into her home for a Potluck Social on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026. It was wonderful to meet some newer members and catch up with others who have been in the timebank since the beginning!
We shared delicious dishes and swapped stories of epic timebank exchanges and wonderfully ordinary ones, too. We even had a lovely musical interlude when folks convinced one member to sing the song she wrote and sang for her husband at their recent wedding.
Thank you to everyone who attended, for sharing your time, your company, your fun stories, and your yummy food. Thank you also to our friends at the University of Pennsylvania who are conducting research on timebanking. They couldn't join us but sent good wishes -- and a truly amazing cake! Finally, an extra-big thank you to Maria for opening up her lovely home for the social!
Maria earned timebank hours for hosting the potluck, and SSTB Events Team members earned hours for organizing it. You, too, can help the timebank -- and earn hours doing it! You can help on an ongoing basis or sometimes just by doing a specific task. You can host a gathering, lead a walk, scout locations for events, write stories for our website and social media, or host a virtual social on a topic dear to your heart. These are just some of the ways you can help keep our timebank vibrant and our members connected.
